Being completely honest this deck is too slow even a turtle can outrun it. You need to speed up the evolution: try using Rare candy and a few Roseanne's Research to help the draw power and reduce the number of energy cards to about half. It gives you a lot more space to play around with.Try not to run Charizard AND Infernape try one or the other. In the current meta Infernape is probably better. I'll post my fire deck soon so i hope this helps until then!
Thought I’d post this here, as the deck builder isn’t working for me…. It’s a rough idea for you to use for improving your fire deck, you can change any of the cards or the deck altogether. This is a Fire deck idea I’ve had since rejoining the game, it’s been left to sit in the corner of my mind while I annoy people with Machamp endlessly…lol… My Deck Currently Contains: 3 Charmander - 50HP - Secret Wonders - #82 1 Charmeleon - 80HP - Secret Wonders - #46 3 Charizard - 130HP - Secret Wonders - #3 3 Togepi - 50HP - Great Encounters - #88 1 Togetic - 70HP - Great Encounters - #55 3 Togekiss - 120HP - Great Encounters - #11 4 Sableye - 60HP - Stormfront - #48 2 Baltoy - 50HP - Great Encounters - #60 2 Claydol - 80HP - Great Encounters - #15 2 Pachirisu - 70HP - Great Encounters - #5 4 Bebe's Search - Secret Wonders 4 Rare Candy - Great Encounters 2 Night Maintenance - Secret Wonders 2 Warp Point - Diamond & Pearl 4 Roseanne's Research - Secret Wonders 4 Rival - Diamond & Pearl 12 Fire Energy - Diamond & Pearl 2 Darkness Energy - Diamond & Pearl 2 Fighting Energy - Diamond & Pearl 60 of 60 Total Cards I hadn’t played for at least 2 years, so I came back to find out what’s been going on and now this is my first attempt at a “new” style of deck, I know people who have tried the Togekiss + Energy loving Pokémon combo before so I’ve tried to improve it.
Explanation: This is just sort of a random fire deck idea so I'll explain the choices of some of the cards for you: As almost everyone seems to be netdecking I wanted something different to stand out, unfortunately being away from the game for so long took most of my brilliant ideas from me....stupid format change….. In the end I just went for my favourite Pokémon... Charizard... So that essentially meant that: 3 Charmander - 50HP - Secret Wonders - #82 1 Charmeleon - 80HP - Secret Wonders - #46 3 Charizard - 130HP - Secret Wonders - #3
It's really only in the TCG that Charizard's power is equivalent to the power it has shown in the anime cartoon series. Yes I know there was the base set Charizard in Stormfront, and yes I have them too, but now it just doesn't seem that great. So the Secret Wonders were a must for the deck. I know people sometimes say it's your main card why not run 4-1-4 or the like but I feel that's just too excessive, would you honestly run 4 Force Palming Dusknoir? (Ok maybe, I have in the past :P) 4 Sableye - 60HP - Stormfront - #48 are a blatant include in a deck with this many supporters. Now for the slightly absurd idea, a Togekiss "energy drop" engine....ok, for anyone that doesn't know when a Pokémon (Togepi or Togetic) evolves into Togekiss it allows you to look at the top 10 cards of your deck for as many energy cards as possible and arrange attach them to your Pokémon in any way you like....handy isn't it when you have a greedy fat so and so called Charizard. As a result: 3 Togepi - 50HP - Great Encounters - #88 1 Togetic - 70HP - Great Encounters - #55 3 Togekiss - 120HP - Great Encounters - #11
Now Togekiss itself isn’t “great” at attacking but by most standards a card which can do 70 damage or 40 and heal itself by 30 is at least reasonable. It can hold its own, it’s not likely to get pwned by Machamp or any such card.
The Draw Engine: 2 Baltoy - 50HP - Great Encounters - #60 2 Claydol - 80HP - Great Encounters - #15 Literally a draw engine, also it helps after the -1 you get from Bebe’s Search and the like to restore your hand.
2 Pachirisu - 70HP - Great Encounters - #5 Just to get a Charmander or a Baltoy and something if need be... it’s also a good lead Pokémon.
4 Bebe's Search - Secret Wonders – searching cards are a must for this deck you need to keep the engine going.. 4 Rare Candy - Great Encounters a fairly obvious choice considering the number of stage 2 Pokémon... 4 Roseanne's Research - Secret Wonders...speed is everything in my opinion with this deck, so here we go, either grab a Pokémon or two or an energy (or 2).
2 Night Maintenance - just an idea to recycle cards, there might be better choices though… 2 Warp Point - Diamond & Pearl...I don't actually know why I put this in....it just seems to piss off people... I wonder why?
4 Rival - Secret Wonders...helps as its draw power....it also tells you your next 2 cards that you will draw.
This is my biggest problem I just don't know whether or not to have any fighting dark energy just for the sake of Sableye and Claydol Baltoy (not like he's ever going to attack is it?) So... 12 Fire Energy - Diamond & Pearl 2 Fighting Energy - Diamond & Pearl 2 Darkness Energy - Secret Wonders
Basically the aim is to power up Charizard and sweep.... I've play tested against Kyle Sucevich's Machamp deck in a main article, and it seemed to hold its own while it set up and effectively swept through the deck. The deck is easily fast enough to set up at least a Charizard and another Pokémon as backup usually another Charizard Togekiss and Claydol. Currently I've been play testing against my brother's absurd Machamp Dusknoir deck and haven't had any success, although saying that other deck's I’ve played against are a Regigigas based deck which lost pretty quickly and a Garchomp deck which was a push over. I’ll be grateful for any changes that you can think of so why not post them?
You know, that deck is pretty solid! Everything makes sense, and I haven't seen anyone run Charizard in a long time! Really unique idea! And I really like Togekiss too. Good luck, and great deck!
